FAQs

A BVF is recommended to use if the asma-1 USB is intended for multi-subject use. The plastic mouthpiece supplied with the device can be used where the device is intended for single-subject use. For subject groups with excessive sputum production, a BVF can be used to protect the device flowhead from exhaled particulate matter where this may be a concern.

The (!) appears after a blow if; Vext (extrapolated volume) is > 5% or 100mL of FEV6 or a cough is detected in the 1st second.

If a new BVF is used for every test subject and the asma-1 USB is stored in a clean, dust free environment, then the device should require only surface cleaning using a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe. If you suspect that the device flowhead has become contaminated, refer to the 4000 Series Cleaning Instructions.

The asma-1 USB connects to your PC using the USB cable supplied.

To connect to a supported mobile App, you require the lung monitor BT Smart. For more details talk to us.
