Vitalograph Recognised as Business Ambassador

Vitalograph was one of the ambassador companies from across Ireland that were recognised as Business Ambassadors by cross-border body InterTradeIreland at a special ceremony at Á an Uachtaráin hosted by President Mary McAleese. The ambassador companies were nominated as firms that have successfully embraced innovation, developed new cross-border markets or secured venture capital through InterTradeIreland's support.

Vitalograph was supported by InterTradeIreland to develop a complete tele-medicine system for chronic disease management. Vitalograph formed a collaborative R&D partnership with County Antrim electronics firm Marturion to develop the innovative system which aims to improve the quality of life for patients with respiratory conditions. The system works as a point of care tool for clinical diagnosis replicating traditional hospital based treatment.

Speaking at an event to mark the achievements of individual companies, President McAleese said: "InterTrade has set ambitious goals for 2013. They are your statement of intent and your assertion of faith in those who share this island to problem solve their way intelligently out of this chastening period of difficulty. Thank you for being champions of the future, leaders of the change and pathfinders to progress. I wish you every success and fulfilment as the island of Ireland begins to generate the momentum of shared economic endeavour that alone can reveal this island's fullest potential to and for all its citizens."

"We are delighted play our part in InterTradeIreland's endeavours to foster greater cooperation, cross-border collaboration and enhanced trading relationships" says Vitalograph General Manager, Frank Keane.

The value of cross-border trade has grown by over €200 million since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.
