The updates to the report include key peer-reviewed research publications from January 2017 to July 2018.

Key updates include:

  • Updated algorithms for the initiation and follow-up management of pharmacological treatment.
  • Revised specific recommendations for treatment of GOLD groups A, B, C and D.
  • A new section on blood eosinophil count has been added.

GOLD included a useful quick-reference ‘pocket guide’ for physicians and nurses, with key information on patient management and education. Also included is a useful PowerPoint presentation highlighting GOLD’s objectives, documents, and management recommendations from the 2019 update of the GOLD report.
